This FAERIE RANGE has been produced for the National Gallery, and was inspired by Harry Clarke (1889-1931) who was one of Irelands greatest stained glass artists and book illustrators.The 'Elf-Hill' is one of a series of illustrations created by Clarke for the book 'Fairy Tales' by Hans Christian Anderson which was first published in 1916. In this scene the Elf Kings daughters are captured gracefully dancing. The original illustration is one of 11 which are now part of the permanent collection in The National Gallery of Ireland.
